On Monday, October 16th, 2023, an article was published in the Kyoto Newspaper, explaining the donations to the Kyoto Prefectural High School Athletic Federation.

On October 14th, Toshizumi Kitagawa (Fushimi Technical High School, Kanto Gakuin University graduate), a former member of Japan’s National Rugby team and played the important role of second-row position, donated sports innerwear to the Kyoto Prefectural High School Athletic Federation, rugby division. The innerwear is specifically designed for lineout jumpers who catch the ball during the lineout.

During his playing career, he used his height of 195cm to serve as a lineout jumper.

In order to make it easier for the Lifters to lift up the Jumpers, the Jumpers will wrap tape around their thighs. They would use a lot of tape and Kitagawa thought that the expenses were a heavy burden.

After several years of trial and error, he came up with his original sports innerwear that can be worn under shorts and used over and over again.

Kitagawa partnered up with Ocean Trading Company and together visited a rugby field in Kyoto city. He explained that the innerwear will not peel off midway like tape and players will be able to concentrate on learning the skills of lineout, without having to worry about the tape.
